GU Hydration Drink Tabs offer endurance athletes a low-calorie drink option at only 10 calories per serve. They include xylitol instead of sorbitol to help reduce gastrointestinal distress, 320g sodium and 55mg potassium to help maintain water balance and replenish fluid lost through sweating.
During exercise, you sweat. When you sweat, you lose both fluids (water) and electrolytes (mostly sodium). Inadequate hydration negatively affects performance and can lead to dehydration, or more serious conditions such as hyponatremia. You need to stay on top of hydration during your workout to perform and feel your best.

Sodium is the primary electrolyte lost in sweat and crucial to replace during exercise to help avoid dehydration, and a more serious low blood sodium condition known as hyponatremia. Hyponatremia can be life-threatening, and athletes are at a greater risk of developing it either by drinking too much plain water, or by losing too much sodium through sweat.
